Breaking a fixed term tenancy

Vacating

As of 30th January 2025, tenants can once again end their periodic tenancy or to vacate at the end of a fixed term, with 21 days written notice.

NB: If notice was issued prior to this date, the previous notice period of 28 days remains valid.

If a tenancy started on or after 11 February 2021 and expires on or before 30 April 2025, the tenant will still be required to provide 28 days notice. 

For fixed term tenancies that expire on or after 1 May 2025, the new law will apply.

After you have notified us that you intend to vacate, we will issue you with a confirmation letter.

Key return

Please return keys by 12pm on your vacate day. Please note, you will be charged additional rent until the keys are returned, should keys not be returned before midnight on your vacate date.
